Bodock 5K

Last Friday night our family and most of the Spartans and some of their families all ran the Bodock 5K. This annual race begins at 8:00 PM, and the temperature is always HOT!

After the race, Elvis provided entertainment while we waited for the race results.

I won 1st place in my age division!! Jimmy won 3rd in his! Julie won 2nd place, and Olivia and Clay both beat their previous Bodock 5K time. This race has the greatest number of young runners of all the 5Ks we participate in. I think Olivia's and Julie's age group had 50-60 runners. Olivia was 9th.

Go Spartans!
Bo Boatner with his mother---Bo was the overall Male Winner. He ran this race in exactly 17:00! Wow!

We finally arrived home about 11:15 PM! Everyone was exhausted, but we had such a fun time!
Our race times are in the left sidebar.
I don't have a picture of Coach Heather (our Spartan coach), but she won her age group too! Go Heather!

  2. Congratulations to you all!! I hate we didn't get to be there! I was looking forward to saying hello to everyone!!
Heather's right, that is a lovely pic of you girls!!

    God bless!!

P.S. The kids and I went up to the festival on Saturday afternoon for a few minutes. We had to peel our clothes off when we got home! Around town, we've coined a little phrase to let other Pontotocians know just how hot a day is by calling it "Bodock Hot!"

  5. Hey Roan, I noticed you had a picture of Bo on your blog.... did you know him before the race? He's soooo sweet, I went to high school with him in New Albany and he ran track/cross country with me there. Actually my best friend had the biggest crush on him, just neat seeing him on your blog!
