On Labor Day, our family joined the Mims Family plus 1600 other runners and participated in the Chick-Fil-A 5K in Memphis. This marked the 4th year our family has run this race! The day was very hot, but all of the runners did well. I chose not to run this race since I had just completed the 14.2 miler the day before, so I watched Leah, Sam, Jared, and Avery while everyone else ran.

Everyone ran a great race! Clay pushed himself harder than he ever had before! Go Clay! He beat his last year's time by 5 minutes! This course is not an easy one.

The overall female winner ran the race in 17:41 minutes! Wow! Even more impressive is that she was the female winner of the Tupelo Marathon the day before! With a time of 2 hrs., 46 min.! Wow! That is 26.2 miles!
After the awards ceremony, we all met at Smoothie King for a nutritious lunch, then we travelled home to rest!
