Chocolate Chip Brownies

2 sticks butter
1 box brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
12 oz. chocolate chips

Melt the butter in a large plastic bowl. Stir (do not use a mixer) in brown sugar, then add eggs and vanilla. Next stir in flour and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread into a greased 12x18 (jelly roll) baking pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

  1. ROAN!!! Why would you do this to me??? I open my blog, scroll down and see...chocolate chip brownies! So now of course it's lodged in that little corner of my brain that tells me I HAVE to make them! They sound fabulous, but w/ a BOX of brown sugar and a bag of chocolate chips, how can one go wrong?

    Seriously, thanks for sharing. I've never been able to find the right 'from scratch' brownie recipe up till now. They're all so cakey.... Sounds like these may do the trick. I'll try them this weekend.
