A Visit to the Barber

Clay and Sam have been due a haircut for a couple of weeks now. The barber I use is located about 20 minutes away on a side of town I rarely frequent. Also, he does not take appointments, and the wait is usually at least one hour. Therefore, I do not take them for their haircuts as regularly as I would like. However, Mr. Buddy is an excellent barber, and he is well worth any inconvenience. Mr. Buddy is a kind, soft-spoken Christian man. He takes his time with each haircut, treating each client with special attention. In fact, Sam was so relaxed during his haircut today, that he fell asleep! A man who was sitting closer to the barber chair than I was jumped up and held Sam's nodding head while Mr. Buddy finished the haircut.
I meant to take "before" pictures today, but we were in such a hurry to leave that I failed to do so. Here are the "after" pictures. Aren't they handsome?

Sweet Sam hugging his "yittle dog that is back and bown named Yiddy" (little dog that is black and brown named Lilly). That is what he calls this dog. He LOVES this stuffed animal, and he likes to take it everywhere. He frequently sleeps with it too.
Here is Clay sporting his clean new look.
I tried to get Sam to open his eyes and smile, but this face is the best I got!

  2. I have been reading your blog lately, and am getting lots of great ideas and inspiration about homeschooling, running, etc.! I am going to be homeschooling my 6th grade son for the first time next year...and maybe my 10th grade daughter as well, and have loved reading all of your homeschool pointers! I have a 2 1/2 year old, so your preschool ideas may come in handy too! I am writing to ask how you started training your kids to be runners. It is amazing how well they do! When did they begin, and at what rate? Is there a website that you used for direction in getting started? Thanks for any info! Love your blog!!
