Our Coke 10K Experience

This will be short.....first the good news!

Leah completed her very first 10K in 1 hour, 18 minutes.  Yay Leah!  She ran a fabulous race!  We ran 6 minutes and walked 1 minute for most of the race.  We stopped at every water stop, grabbed cool wet towels for our faces and necks, ran through multiple water sprinklers, and even enjoyed a popsicle!  I was unable to finish with her, but sweet Hannah Duley, who ran the entire race with us, ran with Leah for the last half mile to finish strong.  Leah won her age group, and she was awarded the fantastic gold Coke bottle trophy.

The not-so-good news.

Julie collapsed around mile 5.7 and suffered a heat stroke.  She is now stable and is regaining her strength.  We will be spending the night here at the hospital.  I will try to post an update tomorrow.  Please pray for sweet Julie!

So happy you have friends close by and a LOVING Heavenly Father always watching over us~
