Just Journaling

Saturday we attended Jimmy's cousin Warren's 40th birthday party. We had not seen Warren, Holly, and their children since before Christmas, so it was nice to visit with them. Holly is one of the main people who got me started with couponing, so we shared our latest money saving stories. She had more great advice for me!

Also Saturday, Jimmy, Clay, and Sam planted 3 trees--two pecans and one maple. Yesterday, they planted another maple and I think they transplanted a little Magnolia tree that was growing on the edge of our woods.

I finally got the boys' room and closet all cleaned out. I boxed and bagged many things to give away, and of course I had one huge trash bag too. Next, I gave their room a thorough top to bottom cleaning!

Yesterday Clay, Julie, and Leah woke up at 6:15 (and it was not even a school day for them--Jimmy was off work), packed a breakfast, and headed out to the woods. They have been building some sort of "house" out there. I had to give Leah and Sam a bath before lunch. They were too dirty to do anything inside!

Last night I took the girls to our monthly Keepers At Home meeting. Jimmy, Clay, and Sam worked on the backhoe until dark. Sam was asleep when we got home. Playing outside all day without a nap and just worn him out!

Today I caught up on about 25 loads of laundry---washed, dried, folded, and put away. It really wasn't 25---but I am guessing it was 10 or 12 loads! Done! Now, if no one will get any more clothes dirty for a few days! Since we have had nice spring-like weather up until today, the children have gotten their clothes filthy playing outside.

Tonight was our homeschool group's annual Father/Daughter Banquet. Many, many ladies work very hard to prepare for this special event. Everything was just beautiful!

Here are some pictures from tonight.

Jimmy and the girls

Can you tell that Leah's tooth finally fell out! It came out during our evening church service Sunday.

While I was delivering some food for the banquet, and also helping out a little bit with last minute preparations, Sam and Clay hung out with their friend, Jonah. They waited patiently, and then I took them to Chick-Fil-A for supper.
A fun night!

  5. But 10 or 12 loads of laundry can easily feel like 25!
