Supermom

Supermom! Well, that's not me! I have been thinking for some time about a post that Heather wrote some time ago....about how here in the blogging world we normally don't show our "warts". I want my blog to be an encourgement to others, so I try to stay positive when I post. When I was first married, and when I was a young mother, I learned so much from ladies who were more experienced than me. I learned about serving the Lord, keeping the home, maintaining a positive attitude, and the joys of living a life of service to others. Now that I am somewhat of an "older woman", I like to share tips and ideas that have worked and are still working for me and my family. However, I am not a supermom! I get overwhelmed from time to time, and being a wife and mother is just plain hard work! However, I cannot think of anything else I would rather do with my life than serve my Lord and my family.

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)

This is the reason for the hope that I have, the reason I can usually maintain a positive attitude, the reason I strive for unselfish service for my family, the reason I work so hard at being the best wife and mother that I can be----I have a hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. The Lord has richly blessed me, and I am so thankful. He sent His Son to die for my sins (which are many!), and He provides me with all the strength I need to serve Him. I strive to seek the Lord and His will in all that I do. None of my "success" comes from my own strength. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. I have a hope of eternal life. That is my true success. I am completely dependent on the Lord and His guidance.

Supermom? No.
Servant of God? I certainly am trying!

  1. HI Roan, I have been enjoying looking at your blog. I am friends with Mary Margaret from PT school and I found your blog on her blog! Thanks so much for your helpful tips and encouragement...I homeschool my 3 children and I love to get ideas from other Christian moms! Thanks, again! Kate

  2. Old? No. But I do look up to you and how you've done such a good job at raising an almost-14-year-old who still respects you and is nice to her siblings. Knowing what a smart mouth I had at that age and how awful I was to my mother, I worry about raising three girls...you know, "paying for my raising." But I always think about Olivia and Julie for encouragement that it can be done! Keep up the good work! And take notes because I may be calling you for advice!

  3. You hit the nail on the head girl!
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
It's a joy and a priviledge to serve God and my family and loved ones. The job is plain old tiring and hard work though and at times I get soooo weary and bone tired!
But, it's worth it, or at least it will be one of these days. I'm already reaping from all the hard work. God is so good. Thanks for this post. Love you, Liesa
