The Green Street Mile

Each year on July 4th, the Tupelo Running Club hosts the Green Street Mile. It is a one mile race that is run on Green Street. Everyone parks at the finish line area and then jogs one mile to the starting line (as their warm-up). The race begins at 7:00 AM, and is over in a matter of minutes. This year the winner finished in 4:30! Wow! That is a fast mile!

Only Jimmy and Clay ran the Green Street Mile this year. Since July 4th was on a Sunday this year, I did not think I could run the race and still have enough time to get ready for our church service which begins at 9:30 AM. Of course the boys were able to do this easily!

Jimmy and Clay ran well. Jimmy finished in 5:43, winning 2nd place in his age group. Clay finished in 6:55, and he won 1st place in his age group. Way to go, boys!
