Thankful For the Chaos

During the holiday season, life can be stressful! No matter how careful you plan, there are still many tasks that must be completed last minute. I try to accomplish as much as possible ahead of time, and I also try to break down large tasks into small, manageable steps. However, several deadlines are rapidly approaching for me, and I am feeling behind! I stayed up until 1:26 last night wrapping gifts! My master gift list is invaluable! There is no way I could remember who was getting which gift, and what I previously wrapped without that list.

As I began my mental "to do" list this morning, I paused and remembered the verse I have in my sidebar. " Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." I quickly made a list of all of my many, many blessings, thanking God for all that He has given me.

I am thankful for:
presents to wrap
people that I love to give presents to
friends and family to host parties for
children to shower with love
a faithful, loving husband to take care of
a house to clean
family to visit
a van to run errands in
a healthy body that can run
food to cook
clothes to wash, fold, and put away
a Savior who was born, and ultimately died for my sins

And so on....for everything I that I had listed on my "to do" list, I could thank God for that very item. Thankfulness produces joy! I am so happy that God has blessed me with my chaos. I will cheerfully work today, reminding myself throughout the day to be joyful always....pray continually...give thanks in all circumstances.....

  1. This is my new favorite bible verse. I have lost count how many times it has been repeated over the last couple of months! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  4. Great reality check!

I am in the same boat today! Overwhelmed with tasks, and feeling like I am getting more and more behind as the days pass by toward Christmas.

This is a wonderful reminder that all of my tasks stem from wonderful blessings that I have been given!
