I always feel like collapsing!

I liked the foundational habits chapter and I would say that mine fall along similar lines--sleeping/rest, exercise, proper eating (I already drink lots of water and no sodas or sugary drinks, so that one is easy), clutter (ALSO my favorite) and the other one for me is Bible study/prayer. I feel like Bible study/prayer is what paves the way for a good day for me, a good attitude, a cheerful spirit, etc. Even if it's just a few minutes, it shifts my day!! I feel so much better when I've had some time to read the Bible and pray.

Keeping my house clutter-free is important and I've decided (as of 2017) to try to master this through the WHOLE house. I've always been pretty good about keeping our bedroom and bathroom neat and keeping the main room (living/dining/kitchen) pretty tidy, but I would allow my children's rooms to become PITS! Same thing w/ the playroom in our basement and sometimes even parts of the schoolroom (usually when we're not doing school, b/c I can't function in a cluttered schoolroom....but during breaks I often let it go!). My new commitment is that I do a quick sweep of the house *every day* to tackle the clutter....even the kids' rooms. (Our bedrooms are all on the same level as the living/dining room and kitchen, so there's no hiding from the mess....alas.) The magic is that really, this tiny bit of discipline on my part--maybe 15 minutes a day, usually with the children's help--is making me feel so much more peaceful, especially whenever I go into my children's rooms. This is definitely a habit I want to keep!!
Pollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09403233175071026416noreply@blogger.com
